Summary of the Role

JC Yared Group is seeking an experienced and highly disciplined Group Chief Accountant who will take full ownership of the accounting function across all group entities, lead the continuous improvement of the Odoo accounting environment, and build Yared Shared Services into a revenue-generating accounting hub serving external odoo clients.

This position requires a strong technical profile, the ability to manage multi-company operations, and the leadership capacity to build and manage an accounting shared-services unit.

Main Responsibilities

A. Group Accounting

  • Manage the complete accounting cycle for all entities in Lebanon, Côte d’Ivoire, Switzerland, and France.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial statements for each entity.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for the group.
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and current accounts.
  • Oversee treasury control, bank reconciliations, and cash-flow tracking.
  • Coordinate with tax advisors and auditors in each jurisdiction.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international accounting and tax regulations.

B. Odoo Accounting Ownership

  • Serve as the Odoo Accounting functional owner for the group.
  • Maintain and standardize the chart of accounts, journals, tax configurations, analytic accounts, and approval flows.
  • Ensure proper use of Odoo accounting workflows across all companies.
  • Work closely with the Odoo development team to automate entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Lead the improvement and cleanup of accounting data.
  • Prepare and manage the migration to Odoo v19.

C. Shared Services Development

  • Build and manage Yared Shared Services as a regional accounting service provider.
  • Develop outsourced Odoo accounting packages for external SMEs.
  • Define pricing models, service levels, onboarding methods, and reporting structures.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of accountants and Odoo functional specialists.
  • Ensure service quality, client satisfaction, and profitability of the shared services unit.

D. Leadership and Governance

  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, SOPs, and financial procedures.
  • Implement a group-wide closing calendar and reporting discipline.
  • Oversee and support accounting teams in multiple countries.
  • Provide management with weekly and monthly financial dashboards and KPIs.
  • Support the CEO and the executive team in financial planning and analysis.

Required Experience and Skills

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting, group accounting, or financial management.
  • Strong experience in multi-company and multi-currency accounting.
  • Mandatory: Practical experience with Odoo Accounting (v15–v17).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS or French accounting standards.
  • Experience in consolidations is a significant advantage.
  • Strong command of AP/AR, treasury, reconciliations, tax declarations, and financial reporting.
  • Mandatory: French language

  • Proven experience supervising accountants and managing processes.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to implement structure, discipline, and clear procedures.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Assistant General Manager with a background in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, ideally complemented by an MBA and PMP certification. This role is designed for a strategic leader who will spearhead business development, drive operational performance, and lead cross-functional teams with a focus on developing our presence in Lebanon, the Levant, and Iraq.

Key Responsibilities

Market Development

  • Lead the expansion strategy in Levant and Iraq, identifying key growth opportunities.
  • Develop and grow sales in channels such as industries, oil & gas, construction, and retailers of mechanical/construction products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with EPC contractors, specifiers, and design firms to drive spec-in opportunities and project wins.

Business & Operations Management

  • Oversee the company’s inventory-based operations, ensuring high availability, optimized stock levels, and accurate planning.
  • Contribute to P&L oversight, budgeting, and performance forecasting.
  • Manage supplier and logistics relations in alignment with business goals.

Sales & Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical support to sales teams, attend client meetings, and help close high-value deals.
  • Lead the preparation and follow-up of technical offers, RFQs, and tenders.
  • Ensure alignment between sales objectives and operational capacity.

Team & Process Optimization

  • Supervise, coach, and build high-performing teams across departments.
  • Implement project management best practices (PMP standards), ensure proper planning, reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Define and monitor KPIs, with a continuous improvement mindset.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • MBA and PMP Certification strongly preferred.
  • 8–10+ years of experience, including senior roles in trading, industrial, or engineering firms.
  • Solid background in managing businesses with inventory and technical product lines.
  • Proven experience in the specification process, working with design offices and EPC contractors is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of mechanical products (pipes, fittings, pumps, valves) is highly valued.
  • Regional experience and understanding of markets in Lebanon, Iraq, and the Levant.
